Pros: Can be used as forward- and rear-facing; Safe Cons: The straps SUCK!!! Also, LATCH hooks are very difficult to change
When my oldest was about seven months old, her legs were too long for her infant car seat. Since Washington state requires a car seat be rear facing until a child weighs 20 pounds and is a year old, I found myself faced with two possibilities: (a) ...
Pros: Versatile Cons: Can be hard to fit if you don't know to remove base.
This seat is a nice seat because is versatile and you can use this car seat from birth(although I feel it is a bit big for newborns). You can now find this car seat for under $70.00 if you look around. The seat can sometimes be a pain to get to fit ...
Pros: The relatively easy harness adjustment. Cons: Just about everything else.
Great seat in theory, but more of an annoyance than a help. It was a bit on the tall side while reclined and didn't fit well in the middle van seat. It also was far too big for the infant until he was 7 months old. It is wonderful as a toddler ...
Pros: Easy shoulder height and harness adjustment, long life, 3-in-one is amazing! Cons: Harness straps tend to twist, cover can be difficult to remove and clean
We bought our first Alpha Omega for our son in 2002, as he was growing like crazy and I wanted to be sure we had a seat that would keep him rear facing until he reached the requirements (1 year old, standing, over 20 lbs) for being turned around - the ...
I love the Cosco Alpha Omega. I have had this car seat for my son since he became a "forward-facer" 4 years ago! I have since had another baby, she's 2 now and she has the same seat. I actually paid for two less expensive car seats before I decided that ...
Pros: Easy to adjust, money saving Cons: Not easy to wash
I have been using this car seat for over 4 years. It was the first car seat I had. It has been a decent car seat. When I took my daughter home from the hospital they made a big fuss about it not being one of those portable removable car seat carriers. ...
When my Oldest was born, we had no idea he would scream like he was on fire every time we got in the car...unfortunately he did. We tried everything with our bucket car seat, bought every toy imaginable. What ended up working? The Alpha Omega ...
Pros: It has a high weight/height limit for keeping rear facing. Cons: Hard to tighten harness system, straps twist, many children outgrow harness.
I would not recommend this seat, there are better options out there.
While it claims to be the last car seat you will ever need, many kids outgrow the harness system in height before they are the right height and weight to move to using it as a booster.
It is nearly impossible to tighten the harness system to the point where the harness is considered safe. My husband and I both have problems with this and we are both pretty strong people.
The straps are already starting to twist and Ive only been using the seat for 4 months.
Pros: Durable ... and pretty much everything else! Cons: Tall children might grow out of it height-wise before reaching max weight for the 5-point.
I love this car seat. It's really easy to use. We've used it rear-facing, forward-facing, as a booster, and now rear-facing again with our second child.
Just keep your instructions and you should have no problem when it comes to changing it from a booster back to rear-facing (if you even ever have to). It's relatively easy as long as you are able to read or at least interpret instructions from pictures. Love this seat!
