Pros: Top notch service, food, and knowledgeable staff. Excellent game viewing. Cons: Expensive.
South Luangwa National Park has many safari lodges to choose from. In October 2003 we spent 2 days at Nkwali Lodge and 3 days at Nsefu lodge and experienced some terrific service and great wildlife viewing. Although these lodges are expensive, I felt it ...
Pros: Isolation, Beautiful Landscapes and Being Alongside the Luangwa River. Cons: Very few direct flights into Lusaka from Europe (only from London twice per week)
After first visiting South Africa and Zimbabawe in March, 2002, I fell in love with Africa and longed to return. Unfortunately, with the US Dollar so weak against a surging South African Rand, I found the prices in South Africa to be too expensive and ...
Pros: EXCELLENT GUIDES/STAFF & ONLY 8 BEDS Cons: CAMP-TO-CAMP WALKS ARE NOT THE NORMAL ROUTINE--IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT
If you are considering a walking safari in Africa, you will be happy if you choose Tafika in South Luangwa for your camp. Dry season activities include walking in the bush with a guide and armed scout, and day an night game drives. Microflight rides are...
Pros: Luxurious, in a "rustic" way Cons: If you "need" air conditioning and TV, this isn't the one for you.

We first stayed with Robin Pope in 2004, and liked it so well we went back for a walking safari with Robin Pope and stay at Tena Tena in 2005. Walking with Robin Pope is a truly awesome experience. The camps are superb. Each camp is set up a little ...
Pros: the price and the fact that 60% goes to the wildlife conservation society of Zambia Cons: cannot think of any - it was all great value for money
what a great camp with a family atmosphere. Reservations were easily made and Patsy helped me with all my internal flights. On arrival I was met by the new managers, Oscar and Miriam - who went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The guiding was excellent and both the walks and drives were great. The new land rovers were fantastic and the bush camp was a night to remember. The food was always great - especially loved the traditional zambian meals. The chalets are cool and clean and I loved the elephants that were around my chalet every afternoon. The staff are super friendly and a trip to the village and school was an eye opener to say the least! I will certinly be sending some pens and equipment to them.
